By now you should be settling into your bedtime routine, and you’re hopefully beginning to sleep better already. But it can take time for this new routine to become natural, and if you’re still struggling, you might want to try a sleep supplement.

In this module, we’re going to introduce you to many types of sleep supplements. We’ll stick to supplements that are over-the-counter and “natural” — these don’t require a prescription or have negative side effects. These supplements have all been proven to improve the quality and quantity of your sleep, so it’s just a question of finding the one that is right for you.

Before you begin, here are two important things you should know about supplements:

  1. However “natural” the supplements you choose may be, we always recommend checking with a registered health professional first.
  2. We recommend sleep supplements as a last resort. First, create a super sleep environment. Next, create a bedtime routine. If you are still having trouble falling asleep, then you might consider adding herbs, tea, or supplementation.
